Xbox Banned Consoles are now Unbanned

Pull all those banned consoles out from under your bed or from in your closet, because Microsoft just made one of the biggest mistakes they have ever done!

Earlier this morning, on April 26th, Microsoft unbanned every single console that has ever been banned from Xbox Live. It is un certain if Microsoft has a backup of all the banned consoles but as for now, there are no signs of the consoles being rebanned. With the unbanning of all the KV's this means all your Jtags will be unbanned as well, however booting them will still result in a near instant ban!

It would be clever if Microsoft did this to inspire the people deprived of PS3 to reuse the server, however this seems more like a human error. Regardless of the situation, someone is going to be in a lot of trouble for this one!

In order to do this you are going to need to take your banned console and plug it into live, then you are going to have to manually update your dash using this file http://www.fortressc...ystemupdate.zip . Simply put that on the root of a USB stick and reboot the console, it should automatically start installing the update.

Does "banned" consoles refer to people who have modded their consoles (Thoo!-I spit on their grave) or is it people who cheated in games on LIVE?
 
Modded there consoles and played online before the games where released... without the stealth patch... so yep not those who cheated... or atleast i have no knowledge on the cheaters anyway.
 
Keep them offline -- although they might have considered pocketing at least SOME cash off these guys in the form of XBL titles ?
 
Wasn't there rumours about the new update "unflashing" consoles and making them "unflashable"; hence they "unban" so that they could "unflash" the console and show pirates who's boss??
 
I just feel why would you mod? Prices of games are not bad if you willing to wait for Classic or 2nd hand games. I have no interest in modding my Xbox.
 
Same. I don't like MS but I won't go as far to MOD my console just to play copied games or to play them earlier. Like CrazyErick says above.... if you wait a while most good games go classic or the online retailers drop the prices in clearance sales eventually.

I also have no interest in Modding my Xbox. Two people that I know are trying to persuade me to flash my console, because the games are cheap. I don't need cheap, pirated games. Games are cheap enough to be honest. Think about it, These days, a lot of games are releasing at a price of R450 (or something like that, some still go R599-R699). That is really not bad.
 
Games for me and xbox, ive never spent more than R200-R300 and its all the good titles ive had

ect. No point in flashing your xbox, games comes dirt cheapt to xbox eventually. As well as i dont want any chances of my xbox to RROD
