Xbox dashboard update goes live today

Well there is an hour left then the day is over.
Evidently they should just have said its coming on the 7th.
I just checked and still nothing.
 
Well i got the pop up but now its saying ive got a issue connection to live servers so i cant download it and ive changed nothing since yesterday
 
I'm still waiting on this to work. The servers are crazy i hope this doesnt affect online play tonight. I have some gears of war enemies to destroy... i dont want to die because of issues.

Its amazing how 1 day offline can drive you insane. :x
 
Well it cant have been very big, Mine downloaded in under 5 min. Playing around with it a bit now but will only really get a chance tonight.
 
are you guys on US/UK/ZA accounts? I am on a US account and will update tonight, but curious to know if the services are still gimped like on the old dash, where none of the ZUNE/movie type features worked
 
If I remember correctly those services are only available on valid IP ranges. If you were to tunnel in, you might be able to use the services.

Will do my update tonight and see what has changed. I do hope they fixed the USB memory card issue on my console, save games are fine whilst playing but as soon as power down and start again later, all my saves are gone and I have to format the USB stick again :(

They prob didn't work due to ur ip range being outside the US. I'm uk and in the uk so all my features work movie streaming, lastfm music streaming the works.

When will Sony catch a wake up and spice up the PS3 interface? While Microsoft has been sprucing up the interface many times over the years Sony has just left it as is...

I think the adage "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" is applicable here. IMO the XMB interface is perfect as it is and they shouldn't change it.

Functionally it works well, but it needs a little 'pizazz', it's kind of bland tbh.
 
I'm not sure how I feel about the new dashboard. I find it a bit difficult to use (i'm not sure where everything is atm), and a lot of features that are useful in the US & Europe are totally useless here.

I think it could do with a bit of spice up. Xbox u can use the left & right bumper to jump between tabs. I dunno, even with the awesome POP & Tomb Raider themes I have (one of UK account one for SA account) it lacks the flow of the box one. Also Sony needs to catch a wake up with the region settings. Cant change country once u open an account = just fucking idiotic.
 
I finished mine awhile back been playing around with is the cloud saves is quite nice but not sure if i want to is all very nice i must say probaly just an overload of people downloading thats why i couldnt get it earlier
