Mouse and keyboard support for the Xbox One has seemingly been in the works for a long time now, but we are promised it is coming soon.

Speaking at Major Nelson's Xbox PAX panel over the weekend, Microsoft's Mike Ybarra fielded a question about when keyboard and mouse support is coming. The clip below is from Xbox E3 Fans on Twitter.

"Keyboard and mouse support is definitely coming," said Ybarra. When it does end up in games, he says Microsoft will "coach developers," making sure they give players the choice in competitive games of whether they're playing against users with controllers or with keyboards.

"You'll see our first games supporting keyboard and mouse soon," he continued, but was tight-lipped on what those games will be. From then, it will be based on developer interest whether they want to implement support in their own games.

Hmmm, very interesting. Keyboard and mouse support for Xbox would be really interesting. It will make online gaming on Xbox a bit of a nightmare though. It will mean you will just have to retire the controller completely when playing FPS games. But will make the Cross Play push from MS a much more rounded solution.
