1.First of all google a US state zip code.

2. Register on live or hotmail using that state u founds zip code

3. Affiliate the xbox with the email addy.

4. Pawn noobs online

Must it be US or is UK better. I heard US point thingies are cheaper? How do the point thingies work? Don't I need an address?

Theres a debate about which region has cheaper points...to answer your question,

You do need an address to verify where you live to access content (Germany can like to hate violent games for example). I think I set mine to NZ for some strange reason
 
I buy my points online with my credit card, gets instantly emailed to you, but there was a thread somewhere in here regarding a local site selling points
 
I already have a Live account. Had to create one when I installed GTA:V on my PC. Can I use this rather?

Can't remember. Don't think so. Went to my personal details to have a look and there's a place where I can put in addresses and countries and stuff. It's empty atm.
