Xbox Live in SA...

Does anyone know how bandwidth intensive xbox live is in SA and is it playable with our connection speed? I dont want to blow through a 3gb cap within 5 mins of pro evo game

There is a difference between hosting a game and joining. If you host you use about 50 to 60 MB per hour. Joining is about 10 MB per hour.

Not too bad IMO.

I'm due to return from London to Joburg in a few days.... since I've been here I've loved playing on Xbox Live and I live for COD 4 and 5!

I want to know what exactly I will need to set myself up at home in Joburg so that the killing doesn't need to stop! (on the game obviously, I'm all for a crime-free joburg!)

Over here I have a 20 meg uncapped line... great I know.

At home I think I could probably afford a 0.384 or a 0.512 telkom adsl line, or perhaps a wireless Vodacom account.

What is best?

The first thing is to get you friends list filled with local players. If you play exclusively with SA players you don't need an unshaped account or worry about lag. I play online everyday and have never had a problem to find a SA game.

If I remember correctly I think I read that 70 000 Xboxes have been sold in SA.

If they can see on our IP that we are from SA then surely it can't be to difficult to see which users are from here. They are one of the biggest companies in the world and should have the know how to do this.
