Xbox live questions

I asked this on the Mybb forum, but got no response. I need to know a few things about live. Today I connected to live, setup my account and got playing with Halo 3 online. Latency was not very great, obviously connected to a UK server. Now i'm totally clueless when it comes to how much bandwidth is used when playing online. I have an unshaped capped 512 line. Could someone please inform me of everything I need to know when playing on xbox live? Bandwidth used per hour, latency required, etc etc. In the end, is it worth paying for? Thanks!

Bandwidth used can vary from as little as 20mb per hour to about 100, I would say on average about 50 mb per hour, but again there are so many factors that could influence this number like voice chat, number of players etc.

Latency will always be a problem, even with your unshaped account the distance that the info has to travel will contribute to your lag.

It is worth paying for, you need to get together with a group of South Africans who play the same games as you do, you can do this on this website or try the official xbox forum.

Halo is very easy on bandwidth, typically using no more than 15-20MB per hour or so. And as Sockmonkey's already said, hooking up with a few locals means playing with local latencies.
