XBox One controller questions

So I'm going to just buy one, despite the fact that I hated (and still do hate) the 360 controller. It's just easier for some games.

Anyone care to give their thoughts on how it is compared to the 360 controller (better/worse/neutral) and how does the wireless function work (bluetooth, do I need to buy a separate dongle etc). Does the package include a cable... general stuff like that.

From my experiences in using them, for me it's basically the same.
Wireless function is the same as the XB360
It does not include a charging cable, if you buy the console you get a charging cable. Otherwise it's R99 from a electronics store for a micro-USB cable.
 
The controller is better than the 360. I use mine via a USB cable and works seamlessly with Win8.

Are you using it with the same receiver as the 360?
 
OK cool - so all that's left is - how do you get it paired with windows. Bluetooth? Separate "special" XBox One Bluetooth for Windows Special Super duper ripoff dongle or what?

Try a mini USB cable. I haven't found a way to get it working wireless.
 
Microsoft have yet to add wireless support for an xbone controller on Pc. Your options are wired via a USB cable or leaving it on your desk to gather dust until wireless support is added.

Ps4 controller has similar wired driver support via a mini USB cable.

That's the reason I haven't changed my 360 controller yet :/
 
Having it wired isn't too much of a problem - just need an extra long cable (until they bring in wireless support). Does the controller work properly with the Arkham games/Mark of the Ninja/other games where the devs were stupid (or sponsored by MS) and didn't offer a way to change any of the controller bindings?
 
I have a few problems when using mine. Nothing too drastic, but it's more about Dark Souls reading direct x inputs as apposed software controlling it.
When I play Dark Souls 2 I use the standard drivers and it works seamlessly, when wanting to play Dark Souls 1 I have to use an xinput blocker and 3rd part XboxOne driver which also emulates a different USB driver.

In the end it's a bit of a schlep, but I don't imagine you would have an issue. It's just Dark Souls that I've found that does this. Like I say, Dark Souls 2 I just plug and play.
