Prima Interactive has announced their plans to lower the price of the Xbox One in South Africa. When can you expect these savings to drop? The changes are taking effect on July 23, a.k.a. tomorrow.

The R800 price drop will see the total cost of the standalone, Kinect-free console dip from R6299 to R5499.

"Thursday, 23 July 2015 is D-day. The recommended price on the Xbox One 500GB console will drop by R800. Buying the console now also brings with it the promise of access to the world's best games and the best online gaming experience,” said CEO Ian Hepplewhite.

Doing the smart thing and cashing in on the recently-announced backwards compatibility, Hepplewhite added the following:

"This is an amazing feature exclusive to Xbox One and it means that you don't have to give up playing your favourite X360 games when you opt for the new Xbox One console. You can continue playing familiar favourites while enjoying a world of exciting new ones."

The new prices will be available from BT Games, CNA, Dion Wired, Game, Toys R US, Takealot.com, Musica, Games4u, and Animeworx in the morrow. Go buy some stuff, you deserve it.
