Xbox One not in South Africa at launch

Dafuq?!

I just don't see the sense in this move. They obviously don't like money.

the xbox 360 was also not in the initial launch zone, so why wouldnt it make sense. Movies does not open at the same time all over the world the same applies to cars

If you are an early adopter, you sometimes have to make hard decisions like "what should I buy". Sometimes those decision are made for you.

I won't be buying a console at launch, but if I were, the decision would be pretty straightforward (apart from the fact that only one will be available). And when I do buy, I think my mind has been made-up already.

i bought an xbox 360 at launch ant it was a xenon that eventually RROD'd i will never buy a console at launch again, rather wait a few months the price might drop and more stable hardware revisions might appear

If Microsoft wants to shoot themselves in the foot, that's their business.
Besides - if I had the money, I'd much rather invest it in a PS4.

Sony fanbooi :)

Not like you have a choice anymore, PS4 or PC

Don't forget the Wii U. Nintendo's actively supporting game releases on it and the ones I've seen from E3 are great, in addition to being able to play a massive back catalog of games so long as you have the Wii Motion Plus and the game controller.

No questions asked i'm getting myself a PS4, i don't think i can wait a few more years for Microsoft to consider if in SA we deserve the One or not, definitely don't care with a smile on my face, #Make Believe, Sony makes our dreams come true without any discrimination, ;)

I bought a Xbox 360at launch and it's still working perfectly(love that control) :P, if I do get a new gen console it looks like the PS4 for sure.

VIVA SONY VIVA !!!!

Did not want to support MS anyway.

I bought an Xbox in 2009 and a PS3 in 2010. I've decided to wait it out a bit before deciding which one to buy. This time next year should be a good time to buy a next gen console. :)

I wonder if we'll get the PS4 at launch though. They might both only be available in SA 6 months after the main launch...

Good point.

Just because Sony has announced anything official, doesn't mean they're not also going to delay its release here.

I hope current-gen consoles will be priced cheaper with the launch of the new consoles.

I'm pretty sure you can already get good deals on current gen consoles, people will be wanting to clear some stock.

This looks pretty cool

This could be the case, with the difference you would be able to import a ps4 and it would still work here.

The worst thing about this whole saga is that even if you do manage to import your Xbox One, you would still have to log in once a day which I'm sure MS will see oh you're in SA "we will not continue to block your IP ranges" and the servers will also realize this and block you from playing region locked games. So this in essence is not a win win situation for us and like someone said it's a case of either PS4 or PC now. :)
