Xbox One supports 8 controllers

other than football or one of those top down racing games, i dont see many games using 8 controllers at once...

Imagine 8 player split screen. Fail. Going to need that Sharp 90" TV.

I'd rather have too many than too few. Imagine this scenario if you will...

A console comes out that supports up to 4 controllers. Later they release an extremely popular peripheral that takes up 2 controller slots, and still requires at least one regular controller to use, taking up 3 in total. Now it's impossible to use two of the peripherals on one console and there is absolutely no way the console developer can go back and fix it.

Sound unlikely?

Well basically the story he wrote down was not just for poops and giggles. It stems from real life experiences with the Wii Balance board. So yeah, that's exactly what it means.

So on topic again, if we estimate the cost of each of the controller to about R600 each, you're gonna invest a serious amount of cash to let all your mates play at the same time. I'd rather just make turns, it's cheaper :p

But as Eugene eludes to, it's probably for more complex controller support down the line, which makes me a happy little duck

So, did the PS3 not already support 8 controllers? And yeah... you'd need to be a MILLIONAIRE to have 8 controllers lying around for that once in a decade game of golf where you don't share a controller.
