Xbox One has an expected lifespan of more than 10 years, Microsoft Corporate VP Phil Harrison said during his Eurogamer Expo keynote address, Gamespot reports. Microsoft plans to support Xbox One for more than a decade with a variety of features and services, including the cloud, Harrison said.

The Xbox 360 turns 8 in November and Microsoft plans to support it for three more years, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer Yusuf Mehdi said at the Citi Global Technology Conference earlier this month.

But let's be honest, this story is all just a clever ruse to get you to look at the image on that post again.

I have a feeling they will be around for 10 years with a refresh every 3 years or so.
I also expect them to launch a "Faster" "More Powerful" version in about 5 years, Which will still be called the Xbox One just with a faster cpu/gpu/ssd upgrade.

The same as the Xbox 369 which got its "slim" upgrade..

While that might happen, games are still going to be tailored for the release version of the Xbox, meaning consoles are once again going to be holding back PC gaming for years to come. FML.

i'm a console fan and this only means i do not need to upgrade my gaming platform.... after getting the next gen.... for 10 years.
