on easy mode :p

Gonna try to focus R&D on shiv units next playthrough and maybe mechs + snipers.

Love this game to bits! Western SRPGS practically don't exist outside XCOM which is a shame.

This has an Apocalypse vibe to it. Im still hoping they will do a TFTD spiritual successor at some point.

oh hell yeah!!! damn I cannot wait for this game!!

The voice at the end, "welcome back commander" sounds like optimus prime lol

Dammit, so many game announcements lately!!

I hope the base building aspect is not neglected - time to build and research vs the frequency of attacks was big part in the first game.

2 weeks ago I went back and finished XCOM1 in preparation for this :D I didn't finish it when I initially got it because of after many restarts on Ironman mode I eventually made it to a point where I had the Gollop chamber and a bug caused the aliens to spawn on top of my snipers and ended up wiping my entire squad :-( This time I just played on Classic without ironman so I could guarantee completion!

Awesome game! Can't wait for XCOM2 :D

P.S The original XCOM: UFO Defence from 1994 is still one of the best games ever created!

absolutely agree!

Blaster Launcher for life!!! I still can't believe the game needs 4Mb RAM to run and how many different aspects there are to it and how much control over everything you have.

Some things that I wish they had in the new xcom that were in the original were

Multiple Bases,
Control over your interceptors (Patrolling them over certain countries to gain favour),
Attack ships with more than 1 interceptor,
Free Aiming , so you could just shoot out a wall and make your own path,
Each soldier having unique stats ( Not just a move once and shoot or move really far and don't shoot ) ,
Dropping and picking up weapons during the mission,
Multiple Research and Engineering projects which you get to assign the capacity of each,
Critically wounded or stunned aliens could just get up and start fighting again ( Unless you take their gun :P ),
Buying and Selling of equipment ( Literally everything from ammo clips to scientists to interceptors ),
Base defense missions where your base is exactly how you've constructed it and it has the soldiers etc that are present at that base.

Not to mention the fact that the music and atmosphere is scary as hell... *HIDDEN MOVEMENT*

I am actually gonna start it up tonight and have another play through, I've gotten all amped just thinking about how awesome it is.

the soundtrack was just astonishing. those synthy riffs made the hairs on back of my neck tingle. and that intro song is STILL stuck in my head, to this day.

Think I'm gonna attempt TLW on Classic IM difficulty. If i lose it would make sense why XCOM2 happened.
