How dare we not have a thread for it! All that changes now :p

For those who don't know:

Xfire is a popular instant messenger for gamers. It tracks your total game time for a very wide range of games (and displays it on your online profile page), allows you to add friends and chat with them via text or voice both in-game and out-of-game, broadcast live video feeds of your current game, browse the internet in-game and much more.

Maybe we should get a My Gaming clan running  I'll set it up.

Leave your Xfires here!

I used to use it, but it updates too regularly, which wouldn't be a problem if you didn't basically have to re download it every time it gets updated.

Hehe, they release program updates around once a month of about 6Mb and game detection updates of approximately 200Kb every two weeks :p How big is your cap?

P.S. The Xfire clan address - www.xfire.com/clans/mygamingza

For some reason one can browse the Xfire website using local bandwidth.

My cap is a dial up connection hence my reaction to having to re-download it all the time :). Here's my account anyway, I might use it again for a while. http://www.xfire.com/profile/isengard125

I have installed XFire, but have not been able to create a user profile for myself.
Could this be a Windows 7 issue?

It might be, but you could just go to the site and create your profile there, then try logging into that account from XFire.

I am pretty sure I have played more Dead Space than the hours that XFire has logged. Any idea as to why I may be short an hour or two?

If Xfire disconnects, it usually attempts a reconnect after around 12 minutes. Make sure that you're not getting disconnected from the internet whilst playing.

Also, make sure to launch the game by right-clicking on the Xfire icon, as on rare occasions it takes a while for it to detect you're playing the game otherwise.
