Yay, can finally buy a game or two - any suggestions???

This should help your budget concerns. Humble Bundle Alan Wake Sale. https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly 6 days left.

I second this. Will keep you busy for a number of hours.

Do you have any specific genre? Do you want a game that is going to take you days to complete or one that won't take that long, but with re-playability?
One of my default "fun" games that I go back to whenever I'm bored is Saints Row 3... Not exactly what you would call realistic (more like way the hell out there), but fun.

No specific genre, but I prefer the bigger longer games, the ones you can lose yourself in.

But now I have to thank MyGaming and all of you loyal forum readers who took the time to answer this thread, Thanks, really, thank you, because of all of your really helpful suggestions, all I want to do is get rid of the wife, sell the kids and try and put a kidney on eBay... So many choices and I am still stuck.

The reason being is that whatever games i choose, pretty much have to last me a good couple of months, until I can convince the family that I need another treat... The problem is whenever I get a game they don't see me for a couple of months.....if its good (and that's the plan)

will look at all your suggestions and let you know what I went for, thanks again (with a touch of sarcasm)

A few months you say?

-Fc3 ( EPiC GAME! :D has MP and co-op too!)

-Tropico 4 ( kept me busy for months!!)

-Sleeping dogs

-Metro last light ( busy playing it... Don't know how long it is though.)

-Ghost recon future soldier ( simply AMAZING there's a F2p version too that's a lot like it but MP only called Ghost recon online)

-Spec ops the line ( Very grim game)

-Dota 2 ( yes its not very "Realistic" but the addiction is going to last for A LONG TIME)

Hope it helps!! :)

Don't go the Simcity route...
Rather get Cities.

Torchlight II is amazingly fun! But then there's Path of Exile that's free. Maybe try that first?

Grid2 looks quite good.
That new Arma game looks like it's going to set some new standards!

Other less expensive options:
Inde game Reus?
Alan Wake (humblebundle)?

Tropico ftw!

What about Company of Heroes 2?

Do you like Moba's?
Dota and LoL is keeping me quite busy...

Alot of online RPG's just went Free to play, i think you will find enough explanation in the MMO Gaming Thread about them. Rift is a good one to immerse yourself in.

I have purchased a sh!t load of games from them in the past few months including a console.
They have great prices and beat every store I have visited.

I'm just informing about the sale they have on the games everyone is mentioning on the thread, I bought God of War Ascension for R465 there.

If you looking for what games to play, check what's hot on the diff consoles,I have Xbox and Ps3 and have a pile of games to get through this month, some of them being Dragons Dogma and Metal Gear Rising, besides that which I'm playing on the psp and PC.

Btgames is having a sale, check it out. http://www.btgames.co.za
