Yet another pc build (i7 2600k)

Necuno

The Piper
My apologies for high jacking the other upgrade thread, but here is what I'm thinking of getting. Requirements is Rendering and gaming:

cpu Intel Core i7 2600K CPU R2757.00

mb Asus P8P67 (B3) Motherboard R1703.00

ram Corsair XMS3 8GB DDR3-1600 Kit (2x4GB) - CL9 XMP R807.00

psu Antec HCG 750W R1160

gpu EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1GB FPB R2466

TOTAL: R8893.00

Could I rather use coolemaster PSU or is Antec/Corsair a must? only thing not too sure about.

As long as you get at least a 80+ certitified PSU I don't think it matters which brand you get. However Antec does have quite nice PSUs these days.

good choices!

may isuggest your drop to 4GB RAM and purchase an even higher spec GPU?

nothing wrong with that GPU but 8GB isnt really needed....more gains to be had in getting an even higher spec GPU

Even the CPU, you could lower its spec, but you did mention rendering so the i7 2.6 will own...

Great pick.

I'd say get 2 of those RAM kits and then you can disable you page file :)

Only card up from a 560 TI would be the 580.. The 570 is a piece of junk in terms of price vs performance.

Seriously? GTX570 is quite the opposite, nothing junk about it. Had mine for about a month and it is absolutely without a doubt a good card. Sure it might not be as good in terms of price vs performance as opposed to the HD6950 or HD6970 but overall a solidly performing card, often trading blows with the 6970, add that to Fermi goodness and it is not bad at all.

Prophet, good specs, maybe lower the CPU to an i5 2500k, drop the RAM a little and go for a GTX570? But then again you mentioned rendering...

Stick to that spec. Do not compromise on CPU and that extra ram will help in rendering. To drop to 4GB ram and save maybe R400 is not worth it. Also, you could always look at going SLI later when you have some spare cash again and the 560's prices have dropped and you will again still have a monster on your hands.

I would definitely look at CoolerMaster PSU's or even the high end Huntkeys.

I'd rather go with a 6970 than a 570.

You can OC a 560 TI to match a stock 570. The price difference doesn't justify buying a 570
