Young South Africans want drinking age lowered

One in two young South Africans believe the current legal drinking age of 18 should be lowered, according to a survey released on Wednesday.

"The survey found that 50 percent of respondents believed it appropriate for people under 18 to drink alcoholic drinks," consumer insights company Pondering Panda said in a statement.

Then the 16 year olds will complain. But hey I bet you they drink anyway.
 
Lower the drinking age so under developed teenagers can kill their brains with ethanol? Smart move. Hey! Wait a minute the servey was conducted on teen agers, they don't know shit any way. Make it 25.
 
What a dumb survey, asking underage kids if they would like to be allowed to drink, we all thought we should have been allowed to when we were that age. The better test is to do that survey on parents of 15 - 17 year old kids. Sure they did ask other age groups, but still...

Might as well survey a bunch of junkies if they feel it's appropriate that they should be allowed to take drugs.

I'm pretty sure that my son feels that it's appropriate for him to play with anything that he can get his hands on, but I don't think that a 1 year old has the maturity to make that kind of decision.
