Had this idea from something that innocently comes up quite often in the Threadkiller about work. A lot of people hate their job, that's a given but there are a few that have their 'dream' job (or are very near attaining it anyway.) and some people that I think have very interesting, unexpected jobs

So for curiosities sake, lets see what the MyGaming community is made up of. Use the template and feel free to add anything.

Me - I'm heading to my 40's and my dream job would be music production ...... I bake instead, lol ...... but that's cool because having worked for people and having gone through having a company and seeing it crash and burn, it's something which is very laid back and can still bring in the moneys, you know.

What is your dream job? Caretaker on some exotic island, or writer, or movie star .... not that fussy
What is your current job? Mweb sales
Are you happy working for someone until you retire? No, but the bills gotta be paid
Do you own or want to own your own company? I want to, but tried it and failed (economy crash - damn Bush)
If so, what would it be / is it?
had a little I.T. support company specialising in hardware and infrastructure

If so, what would it be / is it? I would buy a company like a Mugg and Bean, in a busy centre. My friend has the one in Canal Walk and he takes holidays for a living....

the problem is it is rarely long term, very few places are still around 40 years later, but mug n bean is a good buy

Are you happy working for someone until you retire? Im fine with it as long as that person is cool and fair.
Do you own or want to own your own company? I like the idea of my own business but it must be hella stressful.
If so, what would it be / is it? Exactly what Im doing now.

*note* I am taking over the business Im working for now at the end of month. I am crapping myself. All the hard decisions and consequences thereof fall on me now. yikes!!

Do you own or want to own your own company? Not really, no. I started working for a very small company, so know the trials of owning one.

No real dream really, but anything in the gaming/music industry would be awesome. Preferably a combination of both, e.g. sound engineer/audio designer at game studio

Assistant Manager of a retail store.

Don't really mind since I'm not really ambitious...

I don't think I'd be able to pull it off.

No - it does have its benefits though

Something passive so that I can spend my time doing whatever I fancy at that particular moment. Pretty sure I can pull that off too - might involve cutting lifestyle though to get to the passive part.

What is your current job? Project Manager (Electrical Engineer), which bankrolls my diving holidays
Are you happy working for someone until you retire? In certain cases it's not bad. Turned down a partnership already.
Do you own or want to own your own company? If I do, it'll be consulting or minimal support staff.

Cliche: a doctor or more spesific a Pathologist (do all the gooey stuff)

Credit controller, administrator, advisor at oncology

Yes. Dont think ill be able to handle all the responsibily that comes with being "the boss"

Yes i won`t mind owning my own company. But ill sure as hell employ someone to run it. I need to be physsically working or ill die.

If so, what would it be / is it?
Im still young and all over the place so im not sure where i want to settle. It can be anywhere from a beauty salon to an auditing firm or even my own IT company...

2. Working at home doing CAD and GIS while fixing pc's and stuff plus BIS

Geez, there's actually quite a huge range of different positions here ....... funny how most people would just guess IT because it's a gaming forum.
