Your first gaming magazine

Funny enough I don't have any nostalgia about gaming magz. All I remember is that I used to look forward to buying them that day.

My dad did a lot of graphic work on Amigas back in the day and subscribed to CU Amiga from the UK. Most of the stuff in there was gaming related though and I often used to go to his office and play the demo disks. I lost my sh!t when he got the demo of Mortal Kombat back in 93 I think? the grfx were just as they were in the arcades.

My brother used to get C-64 and Amiga magazines, so I can't count those. My first magazine all to myself was Video Games and Computer Entertainment. I started collecting them monthly. After awhile, I started getting GamePro and Electronic Gaming Monthly when there was something worth while as well.

Was it Messiah?
Yup.
Bliksem YES that's it. I was just about to Google it because i couldn't for the life of me remember the name. Thanks :D
Yup.
I remember playing that demo! Found it quite disturbing as well, if I remember correctly you could possess people and use them to rund around with and shoot other people.
...and YUP! I remember running around some chemical plant or factory possessing people and shooting them. It was quite fun and I always wanted to play the complete game. Too bad it (and most id Tech 2-based games) aged horribly...
Not really a game mag, but they did have a few game reviews in it: SA Computer Buyer, Issue #1. I think it was somewhere in the early 90s?
I had a couple of issues of it as well. My first issue had reviews of the very first Need for Speed, Crusader: No Remorse and the game tagged as the spiritual successor to Flashback (can't remember the name) in.

Just for the record, I think the game you can't remember is called "Fade to Black".

From years back I can only remember PC format, then the last 10 or so years just NAG really.

I remember getting a packet full of a PC magazine's (cant remember the name now) game demo discs and try them all out, was awesome.

Admittedly, I only really purchase(d) the 'Speed and Sound' magazine (to this day), but I do remember buying a 'NAG' magazine and a 'PC Format' magazine some many years ago, at different intervals.

Can't recall what the first mag I ever bought was, but I often bought Nag and some of the Playstation mags before the dawn of the internet allowed us to have all the news and demos at our fingertips. Those were good times browsing through the magazines and checking out previews of games I had no idea existed. I kind of miss the days where I wouldn't know about a game 2-5 years before its release. I really hate waiting for things.

Started off as a console gamer I see? My closest experience to console gaming back then was renting a SEGA Megadrive and a couple of games for a weekend from Blockbuster. I marveled at Primal Rage and Mortal Kombat 2 back then! I got both on PC shortly after that.

i've always been a multiplatform gamer, my first gaming magazines were just console ones and the consoles usually had the more fun games back then, crash banticoot, spyro etc.
