What personal computers and gaming consoles have you used in your gaming career?

I started off on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum and later shared the costs of a SEGA Master System with my brother.

In 1997, I started using a PC and this has been my main gaming machine ever since.

In December 2003 I bought a Playstation 2, but don;t use that as often as I used to.

I treated myself to a second-hand SONY PSP Phat and Nintendo DS Phat a year or so ago and find myself spending more time with the DS. Using the little thumbstick on the PSP can become pretty uncomfortable.

Though I have enjoyed playing on the Wii and XBox360 at a friend's house, I don't see myself buying another console any time soon:the price of consoles
and their games has become just a little silly, I don;t seem to be able to find the time to devote to more than one platform any more and this allows me to
concentrate my hard-earned cash on my PC rather than to try to scrape it thinly over several different platforms.

hmm, I guess the timing for me was a bit late :),

I started on the PS1 when that came out. I was too young to remember what year though, age aside, I have a horrible memory anyway :)

I moved onto ps2 a few years after it's release, I'm a spider man fan, so I bought the first spiderman game like 6 months before I got the console (was terrified it would sell out >.<)

about 5 years ago I changed my first graphics card, I've been a pc enthusiast and started working at a computer store (at 10 bucks an hour) to pay for my passion :P

I picked up my psp in that time aswell (took a while before I lost my playstation fanboyism-yes, it's a word, cause I said it :D )

I kinda lost interest in my psp when bf2142 came out, played "competitively" for the first time, been hooked ever since :)

Qbasic's gorilla was legendary!

So much so that a few of us on irc a couple of years back used to jam multiplayer gorilla (Gorilla 2.0) over the net. Now THAT was orsm :D

Mine:

nintendo golden china tv game set.
086 CGA pc, 17mb hard drive and PCTools to "park" the drive. Cames on there included prince of persia and accolade's Grand Prix & Cal games1.

I had that until '96 when we got a 486 dx4-100. I kept that running win95 until I got a celeron 550 with win2k in 2002. Finally upgraded to 2000+ athlon in '03 and so on and so forth...

I missed out on the sega/nintendo64/PS1-2 era and only got an xbox last year. Also got my x360 at the end of last year... and that's that.

Wow nice to see some older gamers on the forum, while i wasnt old enough to enjoy the tape years (commodore 64,spectrum zx and amstrad cpc) my uncle had an old amstrad cpc(that he bought in england) which i played on everytime i visited, that started my foray into gaming. My first console was a genuine nes(not a famiclone, yes i had the ugly toaster version) and caused me much grief cause those xx in 1 games never fit, after that i got a mega drive 2 which i still have fond memories of, and then a playstation,we always had a pc i just never bothered with it until 2000,when it became my primary games machine, after that i swore off consoles completely, promising to never buy another one, again, but ya in jan 2008 i got exposed to the beauty of the ps3 and made sure it got it for my birthday, and then sadly i had to sell it, again, now i have an eggsbox that rrod on me out of the box.
