Your Happiest Memory

Solitude

Mr. Nice Guy
Last week on Gotham there was this scene where a girl called Silver asked the future Batman what his happiest memory is.

It made me wonder about mine. The years have gone by so quickly but when I think of the question some memories immediately come to mind...

What is your happiest memory?

Great question, it bothers me that nothing comes to mind. I suppose most of what started as happy memories for me ended badly so I have forgotten they were happy, I also surmise that some people find joy in situations more easily than others.

why did you have to ask this now i'm going to spend the next few days pondering on what needs to change in my life so i'm happier.

What are some of those memories, if you don't mind posting? :)

The day my son was born definitely stands out. The day I married my wife.

There are probably more, but my brain is being flooded by a bunch of great/fun memories, but I don't think they necessarily qualify for this thread.

My boyfriend asking me to date him 3 1/2 years ago :) it was hard to think of after the last year but that was the first thing I could think of :)

+1

Did lots of cool stuff but nothing that really strikes me as "happiness" in meaningful way. (Like Blazzok @ son born).

Come to think about it I made a hell of a lot of sacrifices (and mistakes) during my 20s...but that also put me in a favourable position for the 30s I guess.

In order of recency:

  1. Moving into our new house
  2. Bringing our new puppies home *
  3. Seeing Blouberg beach for the first time with my wife
  4. Wedding night
  5. Driving my first new car off the showroom floor
* It's still good memories, but sadly we lost both dogs since we got them.

My happiest memory is a fairly recent one. Last year my wife and I took our doggy and went to Margate. I think it was in May. We were on the beach and the doggy were the happiest I've ever seen him. He was running around and playing and my wife was so relaxed and happy and I remember it fondly. A family day at the beach.

One of the happiest times in my life was my honeymoon in the Western Cape. Still one of my favourite places to visit.

Ya learning from life experiences does build great character, but still feels like I'm missing out somewhere, one day..one day

I think one of my fondest/ happiest memories so far has to be the first time I actually cycled with a large group of people. I mean before I went (woke up at like 4 AM in the morning because I was afraid I would forget something), and I actually felt sick the first 5km (not being used to the fast pace of the group and having done an uphill on the first 2km) but after that it was this growing sense of happiness and accomplishment. Like I could actually do it - and when we reached the finish of the ride it was as if something had changed permanently.

It's very hard to describe but it was almost like feeling resolve for the first time in ages.

Dont actually have one but some of my happy memories are

Getting My Bachelors degree
when i got my first xbox 360 back in early 2007
when i bought vorsprung it was miles better compared to my old opel. Come to think of it i was more excited when i bought my car compared to my house.

and some others

Had a pretty depressing life so I guess my happiest moments are those in my incognizant days of youth.

Guess it has to be the night I came home and played my PS1 through the night.

My Most Recent Happy Moment

What is your happiest memory?

My most recent #happiness was #boosting , not reviving, my #Lenovo Z580 i7, 8GB RAM, 2GB GeForce GT 635M with a 240GB #SSD :D Legends #LenovoIN FTW!!!

What the hell did you just type? And why is there a pound sign before every second word you type? Those words aren't numbers and they never will be.

You're quite rigth. Wow, I wonder how many peeps, apart from old school programmers, know that the hash sign was formerly (possibly still) called a #pound sign :o

Doesn't make my happiness any less, just because #I "copy & pasted" it from a social media post... I had to upload the image somewhere since, #MyGaming doesn't host images as far as know #lifestooshorttoretype "whistling:

It scares me too. Wilbur, welcome to the community. As you can see we generally stay away from using hashtags all over the place. It makes one look like a hipster. :)

It is such a difficult question. The negative stick so easily.

It could have been the first time I have tasted margarine on white bread. (Only had brown bread as a child) I had some pretty awesome sleepovers and school holidays, plus my mother still lived.

My 20's was party time, went to UK and got married. (Should be a happy day - right? Our reception was awesome and people didn't want to leave. Most stayed until 4:00 am the next morning - couldn't convince the DJ to stay longer. :-( )

The awesome feeling buying your first home.

I would opt for more than one - but surely some December holidays at the Strand as a child with my cousins being there too.

3 of them.

"I do"
Daughter looking at me as I hold her for the first time.
Son stops crying for first time since birth as I take him from nurse and start talking to him.

Cliché much? :D

Taking a stab here: Your wife either posts on mygaming too or looked over your shoulder while you posted - Perhaps even dictating the words?:D

*AstroTurf start typing: The day I wheelied down the highway with my awesome cool Kawasaki Ninja. /The Wife: And what about the time we got married Astro? Or did you love the bike more than me?...*:p
