Your Scary In-Game Moments

Scariest for me would probably be the mirror room of the hospital in Silent Hill 3. Anyone who's played this game will know what I mean. Simply a room with a mirror and a sink, then slowly blood starts seeping out of the sink, then the walls, then over Heather (your character). Eventually the entire room is oozing with blood and then your reflection stops reflecting your actions and just stares at you. Gave me such chills back in the day. Such a basic but effective moment in gaming horror history.

DOOM 3 gave me some of the biggest frights ever. Having to choose between your gun and a flash light... And playing it late at night when it was completely quiet, headphones on. I damn near soiled my pants a few times.

The first F.E.A.R. also gave me a few scares, but felt a bit more predictable than DOOM 3 for me.

Edit : Most recently The Last of Us also had a few moments where my blood was pumping through me veins. Knowing there was a few lurkers around and I only had a few rounds left in my gun.
 
Fatal frame 3 by far the freakiest game ever walking in a house controller starts vibrating you know something is near but you can only see through your camera it's the only game I couldn't finish because it was too scary
 
In Amnesia when you get to the first water bit. It was so bad that I quit and only continued the next day.

Yeah all 3 games were terrifying from start to finish, nevermind scary moments :p
 
i have a problem i don't get scared for some reason but there was this one time on the night of the Doom 3 launch i got home at about one in the morning installed the game and started playing

There is once place kinda in the beginning where you walk into a room and get a pda and 3 imps warp in kill them and then you walk out
As i walked out i heard the most sinister laugh ever and as that happpened my wife whispers in my ear "come sleep now"

I almost decked her and just pushed the power button on my pc and went to sleep.
 
Silent Hill 4 the room was not the best silent hill but there was a hole in the wall you could stare out of with a stuffed toy on the other side and it use to freak the crap out of me.

When I think of Scary-In game moments, not JUST Scary games comes to mind.

Fighting the first Reaper as Shepard on that cliff, scary. Running down the final stretch of Mass Effect 3 while a reaper comes down and shoots, scary.

When the Dragon in Dragons Dogma chased me down at the Final Battle, Scary.

And I've had many more moments like these.

This game had a few jump scares, and when the woman laughed in that ugly way I would just want to cry, but I was young then and have not played it since.
 
I must say that dead space had some good scares especially if you play with earphones on the first time a Necromorph jumps through a grate I almost had a heart'y.
 
In FEAR, walked towards a ladder, pressed the action key to turn around and start climbing down. On that moment after turning around, the girl stood there! Shat my pants right there..

Damn, forgot about Deadspace. Especially # 1 with that big necromorph chasing you.
