The Wire is really good, the story has so much depth, not just a cop show, not just from the drug dealers perspective, the dope fiends, the low level guys, the top brass from the police department, distribution everything is covered.

AH forgot about Band of Brothers. That was too good. One of those you could easily watch more than once! Gonna edit my post now too.

I completely forgot about Band of Brothers as well, could also perhaps add in 'the pacific' + 'over there'

Of these the only one I wouldn't recommend to anybody is Arrested Development, I personally think it's awesome but your enjoyment of it will depend on your taste.
