We've had threads like these over the last couple of years but there's been a lot of new games and over the years our tastes change.

It's always difficult to limit the amount of games named but it makes it more of a challenge. Also, do you pick games that you maybe loved a couple of years ago or games that are definitely better now but haven't influenced you that much.

What are your current top 5 games of all time?

Bioshock Infinite
Mass Effect 2
Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction
The Walking Dead
Dark Souls 3

Half-Life 2
Hitman Blood Money
Thief 2
Master of Orion II (yes I see theres a sequel but apparently the combat is atrocious)
Secret of Monkey Island

Ms. Pacman
Mass Effect Trilogy
Persona 4 Golden
Zero Gunner 2
Puzzle Bobble/Bust-a-move

Honorable mention goes to Pinball.
Star Trek: TNG or Twilight Zone (both of which I've got on Pinball Arcade)

This thread is good, because it made me think really hard about all the games I've played the past 25 odd years. It's tempting to just list the games I enjoyed the most during the last 5 years or so, because they're still fresh in my memory, but I decided to delve deep to list the games I spent a huge amount of time on and still remember fondly:

Oooh, the stalker series...damn it didn't age well but MAN was that game immersive. Very very cool games

RA2 <<< LAN
Starcraft 1 <<< LAN
Warcraft (various, not WOW)

RA2 & SC1 was probably the best. Damn I miss the LAN days. Fuuuuu that stuff was epic.

Esp since I grew up with a friend that was well matched...so 6 hour RTS games were common since nobody had a clear edge.

I reckon Planetary Annihilation has the same potential but I aged out of the LAN age.

YAY!!! I actually thought the other day I should create such a thread. So, over the past few weeks, when i get bored, I work on my lists, my all time favorite lists. I've constructed a Top 100 (okay fine 99 then) list of my favorite games of all time. This is a damn difficult thing to do, so I brought some science into the mix. Each game is given a score out of 10 based on 5 metrics:

Feeling - that special feeling I get when I think about the game
Enjoyment - how much I enjoyed playing the game
Quality - Out of all the games in my list, how would I rate their quality as experienced by me. This would not be their score I give, but rather a subjective score for the purpose of this list
Memories - How many good memories were linked to me playing this game
Defining - How defining was the game for me personally.

All these score are highly subjective!!

With all that said, here is my Top 5 Games of All Time:

Fable: The Lost Chapters
Warcraft 3 TFT&ROC
Need For Speed Underground 2
Dungeon Keeper
Call of Duty 2

I have yet to find new games to replace any of these.
 
My all time top 5 are......

Mortal Kombat 3 ultimate
Project cars
Need for speed underground series
Tetris
Grid series along with the dirt series.
 
1. The Witcher (series)
2. Bloodborne
3. Borderlands 2

In that order. I'll have to think about what no. 4 and 5 is, they can change at any point. I guess 4 would be Demon's Souls and 5 Dead Rising (series), but can also be (early) Assassin's Creed (series), Fallout (series), Neverwinter Nights, inFAMOUS (series), The Last of Us, etc.

In no particular order:

- Civilization 4: Beyond the Sword
- Simcity Buildit
- Starcraft 2 (all of their releases including Nova)
- Age of Empires 2 (all the campaigns)
- Anno 1602

It was quite difficult for me to nail down just these 5, mainly because there are quite a few others which come close. If I may mention them, they include:

- Far Cry 2 :o
- Serious Sam (all of them)
- Unreal Tournament (various, but I like the arena games)
- Crysis 2: Maximum Edition
