Youtube now officially supports 360-degree livestreaming, confirming reports that the streaming giant were working on the new technology earlier this year.

I watched a "seemingly" music video years ago that incorporated this functionality. Was able to turn the camera on a pivot while in motion. Heavy on data though!

360-degree videos fascinate me. Having them available to livestream events is phenomenal.

Some of the best 360 vids I've seen come out of the Google Spotlight Stories project. Primarily made to view on mobile devices and Google Cardboard, GSS videos are brilliant.

The latest one was released just a few days ago, and is the first live action video the project has done. Called "HELP", the story takes place in the middle of downtown Los Angeles, where a meteor shower has left a deep scar on the streets of Chinatown. Panic, fear and an alien sends a young woman scrambling to escape.
