Zwelinzima Vavi took to Twitter to apologise

Suspended Cosatu general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi took to Twitter on Monday to apologise for a remark he made about the woman he had an affair with.

"You are correct I got too emotional in that family meeting I should have not used that term it's unpleasant -- I am sorry to those hurt," Vavi tweeted.

Vavi's woes are deep at the moment. He has been an integral part of the Cosatu for so long and it seems that it is now rejecting him over something relatively small. The affair was out of order, but I thought that an apology for it would have been accepted. The longer that this goes on, the more I feel that there is a plan to deliberately oust him from the organisation.

Looking at it strictly from a labour pov, this thing is fragmenting Cosatu and will hurt it's bargaining power.
