15 February 2011

Ubisoft held its Q4 2010 earnings report this morning, where it confirmed that its last iteration of the critically acclaimed Assassin’s Creed series, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, shipped 6.5 million units.

Furthermore, the publisher confirmed that it is working on a new game in the series. No information has been shared on the new game, but it should not come as a surprise that Ubisoft is already hard at walk on a new release for its most successful current franchise.

Ubisoft came in surprisingly low in Metacritic’s 2010 publisher rankings, coming second last among major publishers with a Metacritic average for all games sitting at 64%. Ubisoft’s best game of the year was Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, while its best new IP was R.U.S.E. Ubisoft’s worst game of 2010 was Fighters Uncaged, which earned a Metacritic score of 31%.
