Samsung could recall its new Samsung Galaxy Note 7 soon

2 September 2016

Samsung has announced that it will be delaying shipments of its new flagship device for “additional tests being conducted for product quality.”

This follows a number of reports that the new phone would burst into flames if left on charge.

Furthermore, the South Korean manufacturer may take more drastic steps and recall the phone entirely, potentially resulting in a reported $7 Billion loss , reports Yonhap news.

“The most important thing is the safety of our customers and we don’t want to disappoint our loyal customers,” said an Samsung official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

“Products installed with the problematic battery account for less than 0.1 percent of the entire volume sold. The problem can be simply resolved by changing the battery, but we’ll come up with convincing measures for our consumers,” said the official.
