Dead Space movie alive and kicking

22 March 2011

Speaking to Area Games, director D.J Caruso has stated that the Dead Space film project is still alive.

The project was originally revealed last year, and the plan was to create a prequel to the first game.

“We had one attempt of trying to do a prequel, but the story didn’t quite work out as well as we wanted it to. But if we can capture how – I don’t want to say, I guess, how scary or horrifying it would be to play that game because it’s really, really fantastic – it’d be fun to make that into a movie,” said Caruso.

EA is collaborating with Twilight producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey on the project, and developer Visceral Games stated earlier this year that the movie will not just be a “cheap cash-in” but “something really worthwhile.”
