Crysis 2 crushes Dead Space 2, Dragon Age 2

29 March 2011

Just days after release, Crysis 2 has already jumped into the UK all-formats chart at number one (MAXIMUM DEBUT!), pushing previous chart-topper Homefront down to third place, and holding out against the 3DS launch titles with a microwave cannon. According to Videogamer, this puts the game on top of EA’s launch pile for 2011 so far.

Interestingly enough, given the series’ PC Master Race legacy, the Xbox 360 version of the sequel has totally dominated sales, claiming 58% of units shifted, with the PS3 version coming in at 28%, and the PC version at a rather dismal 14%.

And then PC gamers wonder why EA is prioritising its console versions of games.

In related news, however, players can expect another game update pretty soon.

“We’ve been working hard to resolve as many of the post-launch issues as possible including some improvements to our game security,” a Crytek dev writes over on MyCrysis.com. “These updates will be made available via automatic-download later this week.”
