Web Africa: 30GB ADSL + 100GB off peak for R199

11 April 2011

Web Africa has launched a special offer whereby users pay R199 per month and receive 30GBs of data to be used during “peak times” plus an extra 100GBs of data to be used between 12am and 6am.

This means you get 130GBs of ADSL data for R199 per month, which works out to around R1.50 per GB. 30GBs is more than sufficient for monthly browsing, updates and gaming, and advanced users can schedule large downloads to run during off peak times, making the package particularly compelling for advanced users and gamers. The data is also reportedly unshaped and runs on the SAIX network, which means it has access to SAT3/SAFE redundancy.

Web Africa CEO, Matthew Tagg joked about the new red rebranding: “We had an extensive look at the industry and concluded that red must be the way of the future. Our previous branding is unsustainable in comparison, so we have decided to join the ‘redvolution’”.

Sadly, there are only 150 of these bad boys available, and Web Africa is leaking them out at a rate of just 30 accounts per day, starting today and ending on Friday. Signups open at 12 PM, so you can try your luck here, but don’t be surprised when they sell out within 15 seconds of opening.
