A couple of weeks ago rumours emerged that Microsoft was gearing up to release a new Xbox 360 disk format. Excitement was quelled when further reports emerged that the disk would only add an extra 1GB of storage space to the existing DVD standard.
Today a fresh report has emerged from Justpushstart.com claiming that the new disk format will carry up to 10,780 MB of data.
The current Xbox 360 DVD standard can store up to 6.8GB of data, with an additional unusable 1.1GB on the disk which is “dedicated to a DVD-Video partition that also contained anti-piracy security sectors.”
By way of prrof, this screen shot was allegedly sent in by a tipster in possession of a special special HALO Reach disk supplied to beta testers by Microsoft.
