Gravity Rush 2

As we head further into January, the gaming release schedule starts to heat up – and we have some interesting-looking games arriving this week, including the physics-bending Gravity Rush 2, along with some other exciting titles.

Gravity Rush 2

20 January 2017 (PS4)

Gravity Rush can be a bit hard to explain at first — is it a game about a colourful girl who can fly? Sort of.

The main protagonist can bend the laws of gravity to her will so that she’s never flying, just falling in a different direction at any given time; and the sequel, Gravity Rush 2, releases this week, but of course, there’s been some changes for the follow-up.

For fans of the the original Gravity Rush, the biggest change in the sequel is the introduction of new gravity modes that shift how main character Kat controls and what combat moves she has access to.

It’s an interesting and different type of action/adventure game that should appeal to those looking for a game with a new twist rather than the usual affair pf shooting and stabbing.

Dragon Quest 8: Journey of the Cursed King

20 January 2017 (PS4)

Dragon Quest VIII was a remarkable entry in the Dragon Quest series when it first appeared on PlayStation 2 over a decade ago.

It gave players a chance to experience an epic storyline with plenty of additional content after the game ended with memorable characters.

The ports new updates include more story content, full voice acting, two additional playable characters, new side quests, StreetPass functionality and an alternate ending.

There’s also a fast-forward feature to cut down on time spent in random battles, as well as a quick save option. If you haven’t played the PS2 classic then now is the perfect time to re-discover a gem.
