Microsoft is adding support for Cortana to its Windows 10 IoT Core operating system.

Raspberry Pi 3 owners will be able to interact with Microsoft’s virtual assistant after installing the Creators Update for the OS.

Cortana on IoT devices will function similarly to its desktop version, and will be able to provide information on weather, time, traffic, and more.

Users will be able to use Cortana on a Raspberry Pi 3 to interact with smart devices in their home and the virtual assistant can respond to the phrase, “Hey, Cortana”.

Linking the Windows 10 IoT Core operating system with your Microsoft account will allow you to ask Cortana for personalised information, including traffic on saved travel routes.

Microsoft’s Creators Update for Windows 10 will begin rolling out this week.
