Rumour control: Does Mass Effect 3 has Kinect support?

2 June 2011

Cynical fun-haters, mobilise! It looks like Mass Effect might have Kinect support, if an image recently discovered on publisher EA’s own site is to be believed, and that probably seems like a good reason to believe it.

The incriminating box art shot was spotted on EA’s store by spies at NeoGAF  (but yanked later, of course), and features the purple “Better with Kinect” banner.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking what any clever, sophisticated, discerning netizen would think – it’s a Photoshop job, surely. Except it’s not – as Destructoid’s infiltration team discovered, the image is no longer immediately visible to the public, but remains in EA servers.

Microsoft has been banging on about a bunch of “hardcore market”-relevant Kinect announcements for its E3 conference next week, and what better way to make those guys happy than to add a gimmicky control scheme to one of their favourite franchises? GREAT IDEA.
