Just a few short hours before Microsoft’s E3 press conference kicked off, the company accidentally announced on Xbox.com that Halo 4 “is on the way”.
The information has since been removed from the site, but alongside Halo 4, details of some upcoming games that no one really cares about were also published, including Dance Central 2 and Kinect Sports Season 2.
Microsoft described the Halo 4 announcement as “the news millions of Halo fans have waited for”.
The highly anticipated Halo HD remake, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition, was also outed, and Microsoft has since confirmed that it will be released for Xbox 360 on 15 November. Microsoft described it as “The epic game that launched the universe, remastered for a new generation”.
Microsoft’s E3 press event is under way right now, and although Halo 4 has not officially been announced yet, we can expect the reveal in the next hour or two. Other announcements to come from Microsoft so far include a Forza 4 release date (11 October 2011), Kinect voice support for Mass Effect 3, and confirmation of the aforementioned Halo: Combat Evolved remake which will drop on 15 November 2011.
