Games you can play this week — haymakers and heroes

Dissidia-Final-Fantasy-NT

This week sees the end of January and entry of February, along with a host of new games to please those who like hitting, smashing, and destroying things.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT

Release date: 30 January 2018 (PS4)

Final Fantasy fans will be excited for the arrival of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, which takes a fighting-spin on the beloved RPG franchise, allowing players to duke it out with their favourite FF characters in a faster, more action-orientated three-on-three arena combat game.

NT includes twenty-eight characters, but future updates will push the roster out to 50; so expect a whole bunch of new fighters to appear in the coming months.

UFC 3

Release date: 2 February 2018 (Xbox One | PS4)

If you’re into pummelling virtual opponents into the ground, UFC 3 enters the octagon this week with some hearty improvements over its predecessor, which, admittedly, had a few hiccups.

In addition to a revamped striking system, the new G.O.A.T. career mode is set to spice things up in UFC 3. Much like FIFA 18′s story mode, players now dictate their character’s choices during their journey to greatness. These include promotional decisions to help build hype for your fights, how you gain fans, earn more cash through big contracts, and how you go about preparing for your fights.

It looks to be a great step forward for the franchise.
