Ubisoft has announced the launch of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Northern Premier League (NPL), which will feature the combination of the UK Ireland Nationals (UKIN) and Nordic Championship esports leagues.
This new league has promised to be highly competitive as it combines the best teams and players from both the UKIN and Nordic local scenes to compete in an exciting new competition, with a prize pool of €25,000 (R400,000).
“Rainbow Six Siege has steadily become one of the most popular esports games in the world and the new Northern Premier League will expose this wonderful title to even more people,” said Nordic Championship Managing Director Peter Weile.
The NPL will have ten teams compete across nine weeks and will run between the 19 April until the end of August 2022.
At the end of the NPL season, the top two teams will qualify for the European Challenger League, where teams from across Europe compete to be promoted to the European League, the highest level of competitive Rainbow Six Siege in Europe.
The middle four teams will retain their place in the Northern Premier League, while the seventh and eighth positions enter relegation playoffs. The bottom two are automatically relegated to their respective local league.
The NPL will broadcast every week on Tuesday and Wednesday.
