Absa Gaming Festival announced

Absa has announced that it has joined forces with rAge Expo and African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL) to launch the Absa Gaming Festival.

The Festival will run for seven weeks and feature online tournaments for Fortnite, Apex Legends and FIFA 22.

The total cash prize pool for these tournaments is R60,000, and there will be an additional R50,000 worth of giveaways.

The Absa Gaming Festival will also include a Best Plays competition where gamers can submit their most memorable gaming moments and stand a chance to win prizes.

The festival launches today, and registration is now open here.

The structure of the tournaments is as follows:

  • The Fortnite Duos tournament will have four open qualifiers, one per week starting on 30 April, with the top twelve teams progressing to the finals on 28 May. The finals will be live-streamed on the ACGL Youtube channel.
  • The FIFA 22 tournament will also have four open qualifiers, one per week starting on 1 May, with the top four competitors from each qualifier progressing to the finals. Group stages commence on 25 May and run till 1 June, with the finals starting on 5 June.
  • The Apex Legends streamer tournament will have two qualifiers on 6 and 13 May. The final will be streamed on Twitch on 20 May.
