CD Projekt Red spent R288.6 million on upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion

In an earnings report, CD Projekt Red’s balance sheets show that the company has spent $19 million (R288.6 million) on Cyberpunk 2077‘s ongoing development including work on updates/patches and the new expansion.

The game’s Quest Director Pawl Sasko previously reassured fans on his Twitch channel that the publisher is still working on the game, as many were worried that the title would take a backseat following the announcement that a new Witcher game is being developed.

The company’s earnings report confirms Sasko’s reassurances and it clarified that the bulk of its developers are still working on Cyberpunk 2077‘s upcoming expansion which is targeted to be released in 2023.

The company added that despite this strong focus on Cyberpunk, the game’s new projects are also getting lots of attention.

“With regard to our other plans, the number of developers working on new projects is growing steadily,” said Kicinski.

“This number includes the developers currently working on a new game set in The Witcher universe, which we recently confirmed,” added Kicinski.
