The Destiny 2: Guardian 2022 games

5 May 2022

Bungie has announced that the Guardian Games have returned and will run from 3 May to 25 May for all players.

The Guardian Games will allow players to compete to see which class is best and will culminate in a closing ceremony where one class will be honoured with a trophy that stands in the Tower for the entire year.

Rewards also include new gear and cosmetics that will be earnable by the victorious players.

A new PVE playlist has become available for the duration of the event and will allow players to earn Strike Medals by racking up multi-kills and killstreaks both in a group and solo.

Additionally, as you roam and play the game, you will also earn points for your class no matter what you do.

New rewards include the following:

  • The Title — A Legendary Submachine Gun only available during this event.
  • New Cosmetics — A new Guardian Guardian Games collection. Players in the top 10% will also unlock a new emblem.
  • New Armour Ornaments — New glowing ornament sets are available by Eververse.

At the end of each week, each class will get a different armour glow that will indicate its class standing.

There are also torches in the Tower you can light to earn glows that show individual progress, and whichever player has the highest score in the Tower gets a special glow.
