Developer GSC Game World confirmed last week that the development of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has resumed.
“The work continues and is in progress,” said GSC Game World community representative Mol1t in a post on the game’s official Discord.
This is the first sign of good news for fans since GSC announced that it would pause the game’s development in early March due to the Russian invasion of its employees’ home country, Ukraine.
Until now, the only information given to fans was that the title of the game was being renamed Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl to reflect the Ukrainian, rather than Russian, spelling.
Additionally, the developer also announced that the team would be moving from Kyiv to Prague in the hopes of continuing their work.
There is no indication of how much development is back in motion or whether this delay will impact the expected release date.
For now, however, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl’s release date remains 8 December 2022.
The game will be released on PC and Xbox Series X/S, and pre-orders are available via the Game’s official website.
