The top 10 revenue games on Steam last week

23 May 2022

Steam has released the data for its highest revenue games last week and while a few of the results are expected, there are also several new entries on the list.

As always this list is comprised of the games that made the most revenue rather than copies sold.

10. Old World

Old World was released on 19 May last week and offers an interesting take on the grand strategy genre.

The player will assume control of a dynasty and guide it through multiple generations as you manage your court, expand your borders and engage in hexagonal tile based combat.

Old World holds a Very Positive user review score on Steam.

9. Titanfall 2

Titanfall 2 is a five-year-old game but has remained popular and maintained a dedicated community of players.

The second game features a more fleshed out single-player experience in addition to the wall-running, mech combat the franchise has become known for.

Titanfall 2 had a substantial discount last week that may have contributed to its presence in the top ten.

It currently has a Very Positive user review score on Steam.

8. Fifa 22

Fifa is one of the most popular sports game franchises in history so seeing it on this list is not surprising.

The football game is currently on sale until 31 May and this is likely the reason for it holding the eighth spot in the top ten.

Fifa 22 has a Mostly Positive user review score on Steam.

7. The Forest

The Forest maintains its presence in the top ten from last week but has dropped from fourth to seventh.

However, for a game released in 2018 it is impressive for it to be in the top ten for two weeks in a row.

Whether or not it will be in the top ten of the coming week, however, remains to be seen.

The Forest has an Overwhelmingly Positive user review score on Steam.

6. Valve Index VR Kit

The Valve Index VR Kit is a regular sight in the top ten and has moved up to sixth from its seventh spot last week.

The VR equipment bundle comes with Half-life: Alyx.

It is still not available in South Africa.

5. V Rising – Founders Pack: Eldest Bloodline

V Rising also released last week on 17 May into early accesss and thus far has been well-received by players.

The Founders Pack requires the base game to be purchased and includes a number of different items and features for the game.

The DLC currently has a Very Positive user review score on Steam.

4. Elden Ring

Elden Ring has now been out for around three months and it has consistently appeared in the top five games on this list.

However, its drop to the fourth spot could potentially herald an end to its dominance.

However, as the games that displaced it are new releases, it would not be surprising to see it return to it second spot position next week as the hype around the new titles dies down.

Elden Ring has a Very Positive user review score on Steam.

3. Arma Reforger

Arma Reforger is another title that released into early access last week on 17 May.

Set in the Cold War, players fight on huge, historically authentic maps and battle for supremacy.

The game additionally allows you to craft your own scenarios for players to enjoy.

Arma Reforger has a Mixed user view score on Steam.

2. Steam Deck

Contrary to our predictions and for the fist time in over a month, the Steam Deck was not the number one selling Steam product last week.

The hand-held gaming PC from valve has continued to sell well after its release and will almost certainly be in the top ten for this week, whether it regains its number one position remains to be seen.

The Steam Deck is currently unavailable in South Africa.

1. V Rising

The number one highest revenue game from last week is V Rising which is not surprising considering its DLC pack holds the fifth spot.

V Rising puts players in control of a newly awoken vampire who must hunt for blood to regain their power while raising a castle and exploring an ever-changing world.

The game not only has base-building and solid combat but also features both PvE and PvP gameplay, allowing it to appeal to a wide range of players.

V Rising is currently in Early Access but despite this it has been well-received by players.

It holds a Very Positive user review score on Steam.
