I’ll probably spend my gaming time this weekend levelling up my Russian heavy KV tank in World of Tanks. I also have unfinished business with Red Dead Redemption which I may or may not get around to. Of course, it all depends largely on what new specials are announced on Steam this evening…

Having just finished knocking down the whole of Mars in Red Faction Armageddon, I’ve got time for some seizure inducing musical and visual madness – Beat Hazard Ultra. The original melted my face back in 2010 and the Ultra DLC expansion has stepped up the tempo, introducing a giant wad of new features, enemies, songs, and online gameplay and matchmaking. Having sufficiently scathed my neurons, I’ll be subjecting my psyche to the hellish (the good kind of ‘hellish’) experience of Shadows of the Damned. The title is a collaboration between No More Heroes director Goichi Suda, Resident Evil 4 director Shinji Mikami, and Silent Hill audio director Akira Yamaoka. The game stars demon hunter Garcia who makes his way through hell to save the woman he loves. Eastern Dante’s Inferno anyone? It does have a dark sense of humour, which is going down well so far.

Bit of a gaming drought this weekend as I soldier on with Alice: Madness Returns and my second/evil playthrough of inFamous 2. In fact, this would probably be an opportune time to grab a few titles I’ve been wanting off the PSN like Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and the second chapter of DeathSpank, but if that option fails then it looks like I’ll be forced to dust off my social life or reorganise my sock drawer instead.

This weekend is going to be dedicated to old favourites. And by old, I mean things I haven’t played for like 2 weeks. I’ve developed an unhealthy obsession with Magic: The Gathering Online, so it’s time to take the shackles off my feet so I can dance. This means dipping my toe back into the hostile world of Starcraft 2 Multiplayer and League of Legends, so I’m looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend of being brutally insulted by total stranger. When the rage becomes a little too much, I’m going to work on finishing Duke Nukem Forever. Yes, it’s bad, but the least I can do is finish it – I feel like I owe him that much.

Once upon a time I was a pretty hectic Magic the Gathering geek, so now a buddy of mine is pretty insistent that I download Magic the Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 to jam with him. So that is certainly on the agenda.
Otherwise, I will be finishing up inFamous 2 all the while slowly progressing with White Knight Chronicles II’s grind (oh the grind!). Then I will “try” to fit in some chores, perhaps a social visit… maybe.
