As soon as I’m done doing my regular, first-thing-in-the-almost-afternoon working and/or staring blankly at my PC monitor and occasionally reminding myself that I should be working, I’m jumping up, throwing my arms in the air, and skipping over to my Xbox to get back into Bastion. I’m not going to say anymore about it, though, because I don’t want to spoil the review.

It’s that time of the month again – this weekend I’ll be playing Starcraft 2. After a few non-committal attempts to “get back into it”, I’ve finally succumbed to its lure and will be trying to grind away some of my enormous bonus pool for the next couple of nights. Apart from that I may have a crack at League of Legends again (another long-neglected old flame), and I still have to finish off F.E.A.R. 3. So it’ll be doing my duty for the hot new horror wife, a passionate fling with an old strategy ex, and a reluctant tryst with a maturing DotA clone.

I think it’s about time I caught up with my growing collection of Steam games which was bolstered by the recent Summer Sale madness. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Terraria, Sanctum, Men of War: Assault Squad, Defense Grid: The Awakening, and to top it off, Runespell: Overture (check out my review).
I have no idea how I’m going to fit all of this into one weekend, but I’ll be trying my damnedest!

I am battling to focus on anything at the moment, so this weekend I will be jamming a little of everything. This includes Zelda on the Wii, as well as the Metroid Prime Trilogy. To go along with that I will get in some time with some NDS titles including Kingdom Hearts Re:coded and The World Ends With You.
So a pretty varied weekend until I find something that truly grabs me again. This trend will likely be the case for some time to come.

Dear PS3,
I feel like we’ve grown so far apart over recent weeks.
Granted I’m mostly to blame with my last few weekends being spent chained to my desk slaving on a new business pitch, but it’s not like you’ve been there for me either: a lack of new releases and a large, corrupt PSN download have bred minor annoyance into full-blown contempt and resentment. It really feels like we’ve lost that electricity between us, and I’m not just talking about your nearly-flat Dualshock battery.
But there’s so much still ahead of us, PS3, so many AAA releases and forthcoming leave days for us to work on our relationship and my fading carpal tunnel. I know things have been tough lately, but I’m still gaming if you are.

I’m a few hours into Dead Space, and beggining to understand why it was such a big deal. I plan on finishing it this weekend and launching myself face first into the sequel for maximum terror induced happiness.
