If you were hoping-hoping-omg-so-hoping to open up Kinect Star Wars on Christmas morning, you’re probably going to cry now because Microsoft has announced the game’s been delayed. But you probably weren’t, so you probably won’t, so that’s probably okay.
Also, I really wanted to make a crap joke about Kinect Star Wars going over to the Dark Side of the holiday season launch schedule, so there it is.
“Microsoft and LucasArts have elected to move the launch of Kinect Star Wars beyond holiday 2011 to ensure the full potential of this title is realised,” a Microsoft spokesdrone tells OXM.
“This move applies to both the Kinect Star Wars stand-alone game and the Kinect Star Wars Limited Edition Console. We will communicate additional timing information at a later date.”
The announcement isn’t exactly shocking, given that previews of the game have been somewhat lacklustre up until now. That said, I know there’s also a quotable quote about polishing… something. What was it again? The Force was never strong with this one.
