If Britney Spears taught us one thing, it’s that shaving your head means you’re on your way to hitting rock bottom.
That’s the exact situation Rockstar have pushed into the path of Max Payne, as he sports a new bald and bearded style, and broods his way to us next year.
In a recent Q&A posted on their site, Rockstar revealed some more information about the game – which has a lot of Max Payne fans wondering what the hell their favourite hard-boiled NYC cop is doing running around in the sunshine.

Along with restating things we already know, like the game using spruced up versions of the RAGE (Rockstar Advanced Game Engine) 3D engine and Euphoria physics engine, Rockstar also put some of the more prominent fan worries to rest.
Max is still going to be the gritty, brooding guy we’ve come to know – and he’ll still be talking to himself in monologues laden with over-stated, over-dramatic references in true noir style.
Even though the sun is shining outside, he remains a dark enigma on the inside.
And yes, Bullet-time is definitely there.
Rockstar are also bringing back the the graphic-novel styled story-telling, with a “new, unique spin to turn things up a bit,” with the story playing out in a strong, linear, narrative style.

While Rockstar are staying faithful to the Max Payne legacy – you don’t necessarily need to have played the previous titles to understand what’s going on.
“Obviously you would know more about Max as a character if you had [played the previous titles], but it is no way obligatory,” they said.
It’s a new story in a new setting, with hopefully enough there to keep fans happy while taking the series forward.
