Games companies are most definitely not above cashing in on themed holidays – especially when it comes to something like Halloween.
But when said cash-ins look as fun as Festival of Blood, we don’t mind as much as we normally would.
According to Sucker Punch’s Brian Flemming though, this spooky, horror “what if” scenario for inFAMOUS 2 has actually been floating around for a long time now, and they’d been mulling on what to do to expand on inFAMOUS 2’s world in a fun way.
“We knew we couldn’t just release some more missions or a skin pack, so we took a bunch of pitches from all the departments here at the studio for what we might do…” he said on Playstation’s EU blog.
“We wanted something that fit our game, would be fun to work on, and ideally would be unexpected, too…and of course having a launch date in the days before Halloween didn’t hurt either.”
Of course it didn’t, Brian.
The DLC will put a core focus on Move functionality and introduce new moves and abilities to fit the vampiric theme – including letting Cole fly!
Like a BAT. But not.
