We recently covered the Indie Royale Launch Bundle hitting the web.
The whole idea behind the initiative was to provide a bundle of 4 sweet-looking indie games at a low price that went up in increments as more people purchased it.
Basically the more people bought, the higher the price went for later-adopters – unless of course, you were feeling charitable and paid in more, which brought the price down for everyone.
Now that the Launch Bundle sale time has ended, we can look at how things went – and with 37,558 bundles sold – I’d say that it was pretty successful.
Throughout the bidding, the publishers for Gemini Rue, Wadjet Eye Games, and Sanctum developers, Coffee Stain Studios made a whole bunch of bonus content (such as DLC and Steam keys) available for purchasers of the bundle.
Minecraft creator, Markus “Notch” Persson, kindly donated close to 300 dollars to the cause, bringing the price way down to 1 dollar for everyone for a while.
If you missed the Launch Bundle, you can obviously still get all the games individually, but the special prices do not apply – and we assume the special bonuses offered by the developers don’t either.
The countdown to the next bundle has begun, with 9 days still remaining before the next 4 indie games become available.
Stay tuned for that!
