Games releasing this week (7 – 11 November)

7 November 2011

It’s the week you have all been waiting for – Battlefield 3 has come and gone, Uncharted 3 has basically just flown out the door – but gamers the world over hardly give a fluff about those – Skyrim comes out this Friday, and that’s all that matters.

Of course it’s not only about Skyrim this week (okay, it is, but whatever) as we also have a couple of other great games coming at us, including Rockstar’s “complete” and “game of the year” editions of their biggest titles.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – it’s a good time to be a gamer!

Skyrim

There will be dragons!

I can’t think of a single person who isn’t excited about the Latest Elder Scrolls game – mostly because if anyone expresses disinterest, I stab them in the face.

It’s the game that made 11-11-11 a date to remember on the gaming calendar, and from everything we’ve seen about it – from the revamped engine, new gameplay features and general awesomeness – this is going to be epic.

We’re just bummed that there’s actual work to be done in the real world that prevents us from drowning ourselves in Skyrim for a week.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is going to be torching villages this Friday – 11-11-11.

Modern Warfare 3

If your bloodlust for shooters is still not satiated from the past few weeks’ worth of shooter/war titles, then maybe you might be slightly interested in what’s happening tomorrow on 8 November 2011.

Yup, it’s time for Modern Warfare 3.

This will be the third part of the Modern Warfare franchise that decided to break away from the Call of Duty naming scheme, and is set to wrap up the plot that’s been carrying on over the past two games.

Not that anyone plays it for the plot, right?

The game is looking to at least be trying to be a bit controversial – setting the scene for the fight against terrorism that is sure to be ever-present.

MyGaming are going to be at the local launch event happening tomorrow, so check out for our coverage of that.

Sonic Generations

We insist that anyone who wants to call themselves a gamer, will have had to have played Sonic the Hedgehog.

That may seem a bit unfair – especially to anyone born post 9/11 – but now that Sonic Generations is coming out on 11 November 2011, even the new kids won’t have an excuse.

Following a plot that can only be described as a ridiculous excuse to visit popular levels from across the entire series, the 20-year anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog literally takes Sonic back in time to do exactly that – run through the most popular levels in the series.

From 2D run-throughs of classic titles – to the more modern 3D level structures, Sonic Generations has it all pretty much covered, and should be a nice, modernised trip down nostalgia lane for older gamers; or a nice fresh start for the millennials.
