Brendan McNamara is the founder and former boss of now-defunct Team Bondi – as well as the writer and director of L.A. Noire and the PS2 crime-em-up, The Getaway.
After the developer’s financial and legal issues (against a backdrop of dodgy management) lead to the shut down – Team Bondi employees split up and ventured into different areas of the industry.
McNamara, however, is winging it on his ace, and has spent the time penning a new game which he calls “one of the great untold stories of the twentieth century.”
Speaking to Eurogamer, he described his next venture as a big-budget console game on a similar scale to L.A. Noire – and apparently has a lot of big publishers interested in it.
Even though he holds no rights to L.A. Noire (it belongs to Take-Two now) McNamara has a stake in the MotionScan technology used in the game – so don’t be surprised if that makes its way into his next project, too.
He hopes to be able to give more details soon – and we shall be here waiting.
